WHat Is the R.I.S.E. Cyber Academy?

The R.I.S.E. Cyber Academy (Rambler Institute for Student Excellence) is Windber Area School District’s in-house online learning program for students in grades 6–12. Offered through a partnership with Intermediate Unit 8 (IU8) and the World of Learning (WOL) program, RISE provides flexible, curriculum-aligned online coursework while keeping students fully connected to Windber

RISE offers both full-time and part-time online options, allowing students to customize their educational experience by combining:

Live, synchronous online courses through World of Learning
In-person classes at Windber Area School District, including Dual Enrollment and AP Courses
Access to extracurriculars, athletics, and district programs

Students enrolled in RISE remain official Windber students, earn a Windber diploma, and graduate alongside their classmates!
